2009 Annual Awards

Jody Gauthier II from Gauthier's Boxing won the Junior Olympic Boxer of the Year, Mr. Louisiana Boxer of the Year and Junior Olympic Outstanding Junior Division Boxer of the Year at our 2009 Southern Boxing Association award banquet. Jody (Jay) won four State championships, one Regional tournament, National Silver Gloves quarter finalists, Pal National Runner Up, three National championships and a World Championship to accumulate 72 points on our associations point system. Gauthier's Boxing would like to thank Backstreet Boxing, Ragin Cajun Boxing Club, Gauthier's assistant coach LeDale Dassinger and Jay's teammates for the support and sparring throughout the year. Included in picture is Beau Williford-Vice President, Head Coach Jody Gauthier, and award recipient Jay "Soldier Ant" Gauthier.

The Ragin' Cajun Amateur Boxing club picked up several awards at the USA Boxing Southern Association 2009 awards ceremony in Shreveport, Louisiana, last weekend (12-12-09). Pictured left to right: Christine Bouchereau (winner of the open female boxer of the year), Hunter Marvin (winner of the Francisco Pancho Moncivias award), Coach Beau Williford (winner of the open coach of the year award) and Nicky Vo (winner of the junior Olympic female boxer of the year award). Not pictured: Chad Trahan (winner of the Sean Lee award and the open boxer of the year award) and Christian Williford (winner of the Tony Barbara college scholarship).
The club also won the following Louisiana Silver Gloves Championships on the same weekend: Jessie Fletcher (8-9 yrs. 75 lbs.), Brandon Schoeffler (13-14 yrs. 95 lbs.), Eric Bui (11-12 yrs. 100 lbs.), Hunter Marvin (13-14 yrs. 119 lbs.), and Nicky Vo (13-14 yrs. 139 lbs.).The club dedicates these honors to the memory of beloved benefactor Beldon E. Fox, Jr. who passed away on December 11, 2009. He will be dearly missed.
